![]() Overall, this book is definitely worth a read, but I wouldn't rush it to the top of your reading list. I found at parts I struggled to connect with some of the characters, therefore even some of the most moving parts failed to shed a tear. ![]() The many ideas vying for your attention show Walton's creativity, but perhaps too much is contained within too few pages to fully impact the reader. Walton has truly surpassed herself with this story - a beautiful idea! Nevertheless, there are darker aspects that morph parts into something grotesque. A girl that's different! Trapped in her house at the end of Pinnacle Lane, Ava must make a choice: should she stay safely encaged forever or let herself fly free? However, her family's history is by no means a fairytale and Ava learns just how the world could destroy a girl like her. ![]() Ava goes on a hunt through her past to find out who she is and how she happened. Not a bird, nor an angel, but not quite human. It starts with the strange event of the birth of Ava Lavender, an ordinary girl to any extent of the imagination, but with wings. ![]()
